There is a resource called Occupational Outlook Handbook that contains detailed information on just about every career.  It includes nature of the work, salary information, and more.  The website for it is: http://www.bls.gov/ooh/Community-and-Social-Service/Social-workers.htm
We do have that publication in our library and even thought it's a slightly different version, you can still find information on your specific career.
