In order to take full advantage of all the helpful features available with VitalSource eTextbooks, you must create and configure your VitalSource Bookshelf. Bookshelf allows you to:
- Highlight passages
- Take notes
- Share and subscribe to friends' notes and highlights (friends must have a license for the same digital content)
- Search inside books, notes, or highlights
In addition, with an active Internet connection, Bookshelf Online will remember your readings, notes, and highlights so everything remains in sync. Bookshelf Desktop remembers the last page you've read; it will return to this location the next time you open the book, no matter if you used Bookshelf Desktop, Bookshelf Online, or Bookshelf Mobile.
No Internet connection? Bookshelf will save your location, highlights, and notes and sync the next time you're connected.
Items within your Bookshelf are available for reference for four years.
