Your primary course textbook may be available from a few different resources. The first thing you'll want to do is read your Syllabus, available in your classroom. Your Syllabus should have information about the required textbook and where it is located. Below are some additional tips on finding your textbook.

For Undergraduate Courses:

After reading your Syllabus, the first thing you can try is to check out if your textbook is linked to in your online classroom under Content > Digital Books.  For most undergraduate courses, the Digital Book link will lead you to your textbook on the VitalSource textbook platform. For more information about Digital Books on the VitalSource platform, see a series of tutorials from VitalSource linked to below.

For help with using VitalSource or to troubleshoot issues with it, contact student Tech Support or Advising for assistance.  You can reach them at 866.522.7747.  Please note that undergraduate students who prefer a hard copy of their textbook, but have an online version of their textbooks available within their online classroom, will have to purchase a hard copy from a third party vendor of their choice.

For Graduate Courses:

Graduate students may purchase their books (e-books, when applicable, or hard-copies) from the Barnes & Noble College (BNC) Book Store (formerly MBS Direct) located via the following path on your student portal: University Info > Student Store & Discounts.

For Courses Assigning Readings in the PG Library

Some courses do not have a primary textbook and instead link to e-books and articles found in the PG Library. Many courses that do this will link to the items within the Readings or other sections of each Unit or Module. Occasionally, a course may also link to a PG Library ebook from the Digital Book section of the classroom.

You can also often find a Library guide for courses with assigned readings that provide direct links to required items. To find out if your course has a customized library guide, in the toolbar in your classroom, click More Tools and then the Library link from the list.  The Library link will open in a new browser tab or window.
