We have several copies of The Republic. Your instructions say that you can read a different version than the one edited by Parker, as long as you read from the beginning of Book VII to the end of the "Allegory."
 
Try this search on the Library homepage. First, click on Advanced Search

 

 

1.  In the top box, type: plato
2.  Change the box to the right to AU Author
3.  In the 2nd box down, type: republic
4.  Change the box to the right to TI Title
5.  Click the Search button
 
 
On the next screen, you should get 6 or 7 results. (only 3 are shown here)
Of those 6 results, all of them should work for you EXCEPT #4 which is Book XI only.
#1, 2, 3, and 5 should be the easiest to navigate.
Click on the plus sign next to Table of Contents for one of the books.
 
Then look for Book VII and click on it to be taken to that section of the book.
 
 
If you get a message saying that the book is in use, then try another one of the books.
